Daily life at The Académie
At The Académie, school life is thoughtfully designed to support academic growth, curiosity, and global awareness. Building on the strong foundations established in Maternelle, students continue to grow through a bilingual and bicultural experience that helps them better understand themselves, their environment, and the world in both French and English.
School Hours & Care
At The Académie, our schedule is thoughtfully designed to support both children’s well-being and family routines.
We offer a calm and welcoming start to the day, allowing children to arrive at their own pace and feel ready to learn.
- School opens: 7:30 AM
- Free morning care (“garderie”): 7:30 AM – 8:20 AM
A gentle start to the day with supervised play and connection time - Classes: 8:20 AM – 3:35 PM
A balanced day combining focused learning, movement, and meaningful breaks - After-school care: 3:35 PM – 5:00 PM (additional fee)
A relaxed and caring environment where children can unwind, play, and recharge
Wednesday Enrichment & Well-Being Day
Inspired by European school rhythms, Wednesdays at The Académie offer a unique and refreshing balance within the week.
While students attend school for a full day, the afternoon is intentionally designed differently:
- Creative arts and hands-on projects
- Outdoor learning and exploration
- Language-rich activities
- Social-emotional development and life skills
This mid-week shift allows children to reset, recharge, and stay engaged, while continuing to learn in a more relaxed and joyful way.
Lunch
Lunch is provided by the school and reflects our commitment to well-being and sustainability. Families can expect healthy, fresh meals that align with the values we promote in daily school life.
Our Uniform Policy
We believe a simple, comfortable uniform helps students feel part of a caring and inclusive community. Our uniform includes a required school top, paired with bottoms of the family’s choice to support both belonging and individuality.
Subjects include:
- School top required: T-shirt or sweatshirt
- Bottoms: Choice of pants, skirts, shorts, etc.
Uniform Pricing:
- School T-shirt: $18
- School Sweatshirt: $25
After-School Programs
After-school programs are available for families who want extended care and enriching supervised activities in a safe, supportive environment. These programs are offered at an additional cost.
Wednesday Afternoons
Inspired by Belgian educational traditions, while students attend school for a full day, the afternoon is intentionally designed differently. This schedule supports rest, creativity, and explorations.

Holiday Camps
The Académie offers camps during select school holidays throughout the year. These bilingual programs combine learning, creativity, play, and exploration, and may be available to enrolled students as well as outside families depending on space. Camps are offered at an additional cost.
